Design the badge, see it before you buy it

Most custom badge sellers ask you to describe what you want in an order note and then email you a mockup two days later. Our builder renders it live: type your text, pick the font and the colors, and the preview updates as you go. What you approve on screen is what gets cut.

The four choices that matter

• Text. A name, a nickname, a trail name, a build number, an inside joke. Upper and lower case both work - the fonts are drawn for both.
• Font. Ten faces, from wide block lettering to script. Short words carry script well; long phrases stay readable in the block fonts.
• Length. Six, eight, ten or twelve inches, measured across the whole word. Longer means the individual letters get bigger, not that more letters fit.
• Color. Two layers, chosen separately - a base plate color and a text color. Fifteen solid finishes and five mirror.

Combinations that actually read well

The base and the text need real contrast or the emblem turns into a single blur at distance. Black base with mirror silver text is the safest pairing on any car. White base with black text is the most legible in daylight. Mirror on mirror looks striking in photographs and disappears in flat overcast light - worth knowing before you choose it.

Long phrases are the common mistake. At six inches, four or five characters look deliberate and twelve characters look like a strip of noise. If your text is long, go up in length rather than expecting the letters to shrink gracefully.

How it is made

Two layers of 3mm cast acrylic. The base is cut as a continuous plate that follows the outline of the whole word, so neighboring letters join into one piece rather than falling off individually. The text layer sits raised on top of it. Edges are chamfered and hand polished, pigment is UV-stable, and 3M automotive tape is applied before it ships.
