Engine badges, for people who get asked what is in it
Displacement callouts are the oldest badge tradition there is, and they persist because they answer a question before it gets asked. HEMI, V8, turbo, supercharged, a number on a fender - it is shorthand that other drivers read instantly.
The catch is that factory engine badges are tied to what the car left the plant with. Swap the engine, add forced induction, or buy a trim that never got the badge, and there is nothing that says so. That is most of what this collection is for.
What is covered
- Displacement - 5.0, 5.2, 6.4, 345, 392, 440 and similar callouts.
- Configuration - V8, V6, boxer, inline-six.
- Forced induction - turbo, twin turbo, supercharged, Whipple.
- Diesel - Cummins, Powerstroke and Duramax style badges.
If your combination is not here, the builder cuts custom text at the same price. A dyno number on the fender is a common request and looks better than you would expect in a narrow font.
Placement conventions worth following
Engine badges have an established grammar and breaking it reads as wrong even to people who could not explain why. Displacement goes on the front fender, behind the wheel arch, roughly at the height of the door handle. Forced-induction callouts go under or beside it, never above. Tailgate and trunk placement is for model names, not engine specs.
Keep to one engine badge per side. Two competing callouts on the same fender is the single most common mistake, and it makes an otherwise clean build look cluttered.
Build and finish
3mm cast acrylic, laser cut, hand polished, chamfered edges, UV-stable pigment. Fifteen solid colors and five mirror finishes. Pre-applied 3M automotive tape - clean the panel, peel, position, press for thirty seconds. No drilling and no holes in a panel you may want back to stock later.
